After switching from rapid development on another project to a more cautious attempt at my first roguelike to working three day jobs and barely coding, I decided to do the 7DRL. Starting late due to computer issues, I began at 8:30 this morning, trying to blitz through the python / libtcod tutorial as a jumping-off point. Since I only worked one shift today, I was able to get about a third of the way through, but I’m finding it a bit obtuse. Tomorrow I work a double, but I hope to get back on pace Wednesday.
With graphics, movement, and generation down, I feel good about my chances of finishing something by Sunday. I just have one question: Is anyone else constantly interrupted by a desire to go play other roguelikes?
