Well, due to scheduling we got about as late a start as you could, starting our development week at about 8:30 PM (US/Central) on Sunday.
First day was getting the random map generator making maps, and getting them rendered in the browser. I’m using parts of rot.js, but ended implementing customized versions of Drunken Walk and flood fill algorithms to fit my purposes.
There are no real graphics yet, but the super cool placeholder tiles make the map look thusly
Green is grass, brown is road, gray is wall, blue is water, pink is the controllable character.
Next up is movement, and getting the turn-based pipeline working I guess. The to-do list is a bit staggering, but I’m having fun and looking forward to chipping away at it further!
