Writing all the game engine parts, took longer than I expected, so most of the game content was added the first day and the last day. The graphics were done by my girlfriend.
Every creature lives off what it can catch and is eaten by what catches it, and they survive in a relatively stable relationship. Unlike my past programs it works as a fun game, rather than just a toy. The game concept I had going into this successfully turned into the final game, namely to advance you need to manipulate the prior levels to produce the items you need. Even though all the resources are renewable, there is still significant pressure to advance because with each turn it gets a little more overgrown.
