Rogue’s Eye (formerly Die! Die! Die!) – Success!

It is said that in the deepest depths of the dungeon there lies the fabled jewel known as the Rogue’s Eye, which will bring fortune and glory to any who posesses it. But those who seek it should beware – many perils lie between the stone and the surface world, not least of which is its sworn guardian, the dreaded Black Knight…

This is my first 7DRL, and despite an early change-of-plans I got it done in time and am really happy with the way it turned out.

Give it a go and let me know what you think!

  1. Really like this. Like a random version of Elves and Orcs.

Could do with q and e for turning (like Grimrock does). And sound. Hope you’re tempted to add some post-challenge polish.

  2. Thanks guys, really glad to hear you enjoyed it! You are so right about Q and E – why the hell didn’t I think of that? If it’s any consolation the numpad is set up in a similar way (i.e. 4,8,6,2 do movement and 7 & 9 do turning).

I actually have all the code in there for playing sounds (and adjusting volume and panning depending on position), I just ran out of time to seek out decent sound effects and I wanted to keep the file size as low as possible. Maybe for version 1.1…
