In half a day, I managed to get the random map, player’s movement, collision detection, and enemies chasing the player. rot.js provides very good small libraries that I can just take and use with React.js without using the whole engine.
React.js plays really nice with rot.js to create the map without a lot of efforts. People is saying that DOM render is slow, but I haven’t experienced any problem so far. Besides, I’m not gonna worry too much about performance when there are many other things to do.
Anyway, here is the latest screenshot of the game:
Will finish up movement and work on attack system after work tomorrow. Now is time for a good sleep.
