Shaken, not stirred
The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to preserve World peace by disarming a ticking bomb. Unfortunately the location of the bomb as well as the instructions of how to disarm it is not known. The bad guys are not too happy about your interaction with their plans. The gals on
the other hand may, or may not help you.
This was my first attempt for a rogue-like game. After reading a little about the FAQ I started by coding the world, permadie, not a linear storyline etc.
But unfortunately I did not pay enough attention to turn based gameplay. This became a real-time game.
The game is written for the Atari Lynx console that has its 25th anniversary on the 11th of November 2014. Hopefully I have a chance to sit down with some other retro-gaming enthusiasts to play “Shaken, not stirred” and other cool games.
This game can be played on Windows using Handy, Linux using mednafen, Android using “aLynx free”. Enjoy it. The download is from https://bitbucket.org/karri/shaken/downloads
For people used to bloated libraries, operating systems and great tools it may come as a surprise that “Shaken, not stirred” image containing everything is below 64kb. This also includes the 10 minute soundtrack, music player, real time graphics effects and great, hectic gameplay.
