Theseus turned out to be an almost chess-like strategy one-hp roguelike. I streamed my final debugging session this morning. Here’s a full run all the way through winning that happened during the stream (don’t watch if you want to figure it out on your own):
I’m quite happy with how the strategy aspect turned out. It took constant tweaking to make sure that the movement patterns of the enemies worked together in a way that would require some strategy, but not so crazy that you would constantly find yourself in impossible situations. In fact, I’m not sure I found a single impossible situation in the two hours of streaming I did.
